Will be around 130 years old.
Used in Victorian times to hold a ladies Muff (hand warmer) or Guard, used by Mothers and Nanny's to hang baby's rattle, scissors etc from. This has the original Escutcheon applied to the end link denoting the Gold value, 9c for 100% 9ct Gold. Plus it has the Barrel Clasp fitting (rare).
They were around 60 in length, then as they became less popular were split into 2 or 3 chains to spread around the family. I don't get many of these turn up, but do know exactly what i will get for them, so be quick at this price. Please see my other listings for more similar chains.
