"Antique 9ct Gold Full Hunter Pocketwatch & 9ct Gold Double Albert Chain Boxed" GWO Heavy 127.3g. The case is fully English hallmarked for 9 carat gold and it was assayed in London. It is in good condition however there are a couple of minor dents to the case commensurate with its age and use and the hallmarks are crisp and clear. The case is completely plain in decoration and is free from any personal engravings/monograms. The enamelled dial is also in excellent condition and is free from any hairline cracks and has Roman numerals with a small seconds subsidiary dial. It is marked on the dial. "Sir John Bennett Ltd London". "Warranted English 15 Jewels 335614". 48mm in diameter (not including the winder) and it is complete with a 9ct solid gold double albert chain which is hallmarked on every link "9 375" for 9 carat gold. The chain also has a 9ct gold bloodstone & carnelian spinner fob, 2 secure dog clips and a t-bar. The albert chain measures 15 in length and the links measure 6mm across. The overall weight of the watch & chain is a very heavy 127.3 grams in total. The unit is complete with an antique fitted leather box which is marked. "Bonningtons Goldsmiths & Jewellers 298 Pentonville Road Kings Cross" on the inside. However I do not know if this is original to the watch but makes for lovely presentation. A lovely complete example of a gentleman's 9ct solid gold full hunter pocketwatch and chain which would make a superb present for the man in your life.
