Antique Art Nouveau 9ct Gold & Turquoise Pendant With Chain - c. This is a very nice Edwardian necklace from the early years of the 20th century but it's so wearable today. The pendant is manufactured in 9ct yellow gold and has a beautiful collet set oval Turquoise stone - the gold frame is almost heart shaped and has sweeping tendrils that form a point at the bottom - the form and design is quite typical of jewellery from the Art Nouveau era of the late 19th or early 20th century. The pendant is marked as 9ct gold in two places - there is small gold tab applied to the rear of the closed back and there is also a 9ct mark on the smaller of the loose rings at the top of the pendant (see picture 6) - the item would not of required full hallmarking due to its weight and'9ct' was the common stamping on items of this era - modern pieces more often quote the numeral 375 for 9ct grade gold.
The pendant is supplied with a fine modern 9ct gold 18 inch curb link chain - this is marked. Excluding the suspension rings the pendant measures 18mm from top to bottom and is 13mm across - the total unpacked weight is 1.6g. The condition all round is excellent and has no issues to report - the item is nice and clean a ready to wear!
This is fantastic piece of period jewellery for a collector or for a special lady - please study the images provided to satisfy yourself as to the condition of the item - if you have any further questions please ask and I'll be happy to oblige. The necklace will also be supplied with a good quality gift box. The item "Antique Art Nouveau 9ct Gold & Turquoise Pendant With Chain c.
