A LOVELY ART NOUVEAU SUFFRAGETTE 9CT GOLD BROOCH - C1900, GOLD SAFETY CHAIN, PERIOD BOX. A STUNNING ANTIQUE BROOCH & SO WEAR ABLE. This is an antique yellow gold brooch. The brooch is in a simple and elegant period chased design, and is picked out in crystals of amethyst, peridot and clear.

The brooch is complete with a gold safety chain. This brooch dates from around 1900 and is fully marked.

The glass stones featured are Peridot for Green, Amethyst for Violet, clear crystal for White, supposedly symbolizing the Suffragette movements mantra, Give Women the Vote? These colours were first adopted in C1900 and the colours represent G reen for Hope, W hite for purity and V iolet for dignity. Is in made up of yellow 9CT and is a classic art nouveau bar brooch and features a simple floral design and set with sparkling peridot, amethyst & clear. The overall affect is one of great charm. The brooch has a safety bar clasp to the rear which is in good order, which is not gold. The fitted safety chain is low grade gold. The brooch measures 2.0'' in length and is 0.5'' wide. It has an outstanding period patina and has been well loved in the past.

Is a period brooch box in faded brown leatherette, with a navy velvet pad and satin interior. It has a good hinge and locking clasp. It is in vintage condition 1/2 and shows only minor age related wear to both interior and exterior. This item is in vintage condition 1.

There is no damage to any of the components apart from surface scratching to the larger glass crystals and some age related delamination to the metal work including minor marking to part of the gold finish, which does not detract from the items charm or wear ability.
