A TRULY STUNNING ART NOUVEAU PERIOD SUFFRAGETTE 9CT YELLOW GOLD SUPER-SIZED PENDANT & 9CT GOLD CHAIN C1890S. 4.47 GRAMS, PERIOD BOX. A WONDERFUL QUALITY ANTIQUE JEWEL & VERY WEAR ABLE! This pendant carries a 9ct stamp to the rear, together with the maker's mark.

The pendant is dressed in the classic Suffragette colours of white, peridot and amethyst and a profusion of seed pearls. This item is very fine quality and a very classy jewel, which dates from c1890's. The pendant is fitted with a fancy link 9ct gold chain, which may not be original and is stamped 9ct on the clasp. This jewel is presented in a period presentation box. This jewel is fine quality and has a good combined weight of 4.47 grams.

This type of pendant is exceptionally rare todays market and were not available commercially in period, so many would have been adapted from period jewels by jobbing jewellers, resulting in some unusual designs and a large range of styles. This pendant is from an earlier period and would have been up to 10 years old when adapted and is of good quality, so a rare survivor? The glass stones featured are Peridot for Green, Amethyst for Violet, clear crystal for White, supposedly symbolizing the Suffragette movements mantra, Give Women the Vote?

These colours were first adopted in C1900 and the colours represent G reen for Hope, W hite for purity and V iolet for dignity. Is a high quality Jewel and is charmingly styled with. In a classic antique design.

It is in yellow gold. It is stamped with a 9ct mark to the rear. Measures 2.5'' in length including the bale and is 1.0' wide. It is fitted with its original bale.

The 9ct gold fancy link chain measures 16.0'' in length It has an outstanding period patina and has been well loved in the past. The box: is a period retailers presentation box in brown leatherette to the exterior and a good black velvet pad and satin interior. It is in worn antique condition 2/3 and shows age related wear and fading to the exterior, but the interior satin is good apart from losses to the hinge cover.

It has a good hinge and a good button clasp. This item is in vintage condition 1. There is no damage to any of the components apart from surface scratching to the larger glass crystals and some age related delamination to the metal work including minor marking to the metal, which does not detract from the items charm or wear ability.
